The South Haven Club drew a large crowd last evening, with 90-plus members on average. Hosts Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Pearman and Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Arnold presided. Twenty card tables were in use and winners were Mrs. E. F. Eager and Mr. W H. Getz. Dancing from 10:30 to 12 closed the evening.

Insane Woman Taken Into Custody After Maple Street Incident
A Chicago woman, recently released from Dunning Hospital, was detained by Chief McGregor after attempting entry to several Maple Street homes and stealing mail. The local jail held her overnight as Chicago authorities were notified. A May 90 day return window to Dunning was cited by the mother, Mrs. M Fournier, who also supplied a hospital parole date.

Mark O Horton son of Mrs O W Lee of this city arrived from Providence Rhode Island yesterday afternoon. He has been away three years first visit home since he left. He sailed on a tow barge between Norfolk and New England ports and spent the last three weeks in the marine hospital at Providence with appendicitis. He will spend the winter at home and recuperate.

Council Provides for Library Sewer Works
The city council met in an adjourned session to hear objections to the Carnegie Library sewer project. With Ald. Engel absent, no taxpayer objections were raised, and a resolution was passed to authorize the sewer, assigning 216.53 as 5-6 of the estimated cost against district property. The city’s share is about 43, and the Board of Public Works was directed to proceed with construction by contract or otherwise. Several other matters were discussed informally with no action.

Quarterly Meeting at Free Methodist Church Begin Friday
In the fourth week of revival at the Free Methodist church the second quarterly meeting of the current conference year will start Friday evening. Rev. P. E. Vincent will preside and preach Friday night Saturday afternoon at 2 30 Saturday evening and Sunday morning and evening services. Attendance at the revivals is excellent and many conversions are noted with more likely to join. The church opens at 7 with songs at 7 30.

Colored Church Has New Stove in South Haven
In South Haven a coal burning stove was bought for the colored church from Clifton hotel. Trustee Sam Brown found the stove cheap and started a subscription drive to raise funds. Contributors include J. H. Irven, Sam Brown, Jack Spillers, Jimmy Dill, Orvie Connor, Ike Roots, Charley Hudson. Rev Carruthers reports a nameless donor gave a cook stove to the church.
