Reports vary on foreigners’ fate as agents press Juarez for news and two English subjects reached Caux yesterday.
Detroit police held a woman and three men accused of belonging to the automobile bandit gang that has terrorized the city and suburbs for months. The woman is Mrs. Clara Habel. Suspects named William Oppen Walter Lemberg and Edwin Clark. They were arrested shortly after a bold auto hold up in Highland Park.
Ralph L. Jottman, serving seven years for embezzlement at Jackson prison, is released on parole by Governor Ferris. Former cashier of a Clarksville bank, its failure followed his thefts. Jottman will work at a Ford plant in Detroit earning 125 dollars weekly, to be paid to bank receivers and distributed to creditors pro rata.

United Press reports survivors describing the torpedoing of the steamer Marina by a German submarine as cold blooded murder. Forty rescued passengers arrived from Glasgow including W P Hancock of Richmond Virginia who called the act murder. Survivors said a heavy sea ran at the moment of explosion with no warning, the ship sank straight down without keeling over.
Mrs C D Kelley and son Charles return from a trip to Indianapolis where she attended the W C T U national convention. Mr and Mrs E E Derrick plan a move to the Goodridge farm. E Brown returns to Chicago after a few days at his farm. Corn shredders are busy locally. Henry Perlman leaves for Chicago for the winter. Charles Philips hires out to Mr Nicol for the year. Mrs F L Emeterio dies in Ann Arbor. she long resided here. Percival family moves to Merritt’s tenant house. Rice family moves to South Haven. Croshaw returns to farm from South Haven. Frank Mosey works on the corn shredder.
Miss Francis Monk stayed with Miss Mabel Pierce as an over Sunday guest. Charles Thomas and family visited Watervliet last Sunday for a dinner hosted by his brother Will and family, featuring venison. Mr and Mrs Paul Overton returned to Washing to see their grandparents, Mrs E S Harvey. Orlando Hoover and family enjoy a new Ford. Revival meetings continue at the Congregational church and Sunday schools prepare for Christmas.

The South Haven Concert Band plans a Thursday afternoon street concert at about three o'clock weather permitting. The group, formed from fourteen musicians, continues a longtime local tradition and aims to perform further in concert settings before winter. The program will include selections announced on site.

United Press dispatch from Amsterdam reports a severe cold will keep the Kaiser from attending Emperor Franz Josephs funeral in Austria Hungary. The Kaiser viewed the dead rulers bier and prayed after returning to Berlin from Vienna, then conferred with the new Emperor before resuming his journey.
New York, Nov 29. Marine insurance rates rose from 5 to 6 percent on ships bound for Mediterranean ports to 8 and 10 percent after the sinking of the Chemung. The loss struck New York underwriters hard, with a large portion of the $600,000 insurance on the vessel carried by local underwriters.
United Press reports rapid Teutonic advance through Roumania near Kraiova. German forces under Mackensen and Falkenhayn progress 10 to 15 kilometers daily as Roumanians retreat. 300 carloads of Romanian supplies fell into German hands. Roumanians have not organized effective resistance. Patrols of the German corps have united, but future Roumanian action will determine if they stay together.
