Old Bangor Resident Died Wednesday
Samuel Lyons of Chicago returned to Bangor after visiting family and plans to bring relatives from Europe. N W Drake of Bangor, a longtime hardware dealer turned livery businessman, died yesterday afternoon after months of illness. His funeral is scheduled Friday at 2 p m with friends from the area likely to attend. Drake was active in public affairs and held offices in Bangor village and township. his wife is F W Hurlbut's sister.

Pioneer Resident Benjamin R Clark Dies at 76 in Lacota Chicora
Benjamin R Clark long-time Lacota resident died after a lingering illness on Friday Aug 3 at his son Hermans home in Chicora. Born Aug 8 1829 in Lincolnshire England he came to America as a child and later lived in Rochester NY and Michigan. He served as Lacota postmaster for seven years and leaves Julia Bliss his widow three sons Frank Herman Roy sisters and one brother. Funeral held Aug 5 at Lacota M E Church with large turnout. He was a devout Christian and Temperance advocate.

Missionary Society Studies Africa At Congregational Church

The People vs W H Spooner was tried in Justice Besseys court with Asst. Prosecutor Arthur J Stevens for the People and T J Cavanaugh and F C Cogshall for the defense. After a 15 minute jury deliberation the verdict was not guilty. The witness list included Chas D Hall and his eight year old son David.
