A Santa Fe freight train collided with a truck carrying farm field workers west of Vroman Colorado killing 12 and injuring several more. The 56 car eastbound train struck a three quarter ton Chevrolet truck at a farm road crossing near the settlement. The driver and victims included Sylvester Licano of Rocky Ford and other local residents.
