1969 US car facts show two door hardtop tops sales

The 1968 US auto sales reached 8,822,158 placing second to 1965. Two door hardtops led body styles with 3,963,185 units, 45 percent of total. Automatic transmissions were in 89.1 percent of cars, radios 87.9 percent, V-8 engines 86.4 percent, power steering 77.4 percent, and 43.3 percent had factory air conditioning.

Reds suffer heavy losses after brief lull

In Saigon the Vietnam War saw nearly 400 Viet Cong and North Vietnamese killed in heavy ground fighting after a brief lull. The 5th Marine Regiment reported 186 enemy dead southwest of Da Nang, while U S forces tallied 137 more in four clashes near Saigon. American casualties reached 18 dead and 95 wounded with 6 Saigon troops killed.

Barbecue Tickets For Dedication Of Robert Lee Dam

Booth Site Assignments for Independence Day
