First chlorine shipment marks milestone at American Magnesium Co

This morning the American Magnesium Co plant near Snyder completed its first rail shipment, with a Santa Fe locomotive pulling a tank car loaded with about 92 tons of liquefied chlorine bound for El Paso. Search Continues For Missing RC135 Over Alaska

Anchorage AP report says 15 military planes and two Coast Guard vessels fly the western Aleutians seeking an Air Force RC135 missing with 19 aboard. Plane last radioed near Amchitka Island after a routine flight from Shemya to Eielson Air Base.

Heath Rites Set Saturday

Funeral service for Mrs. Lea Heath is scheduled for 2 30 p m Saturday at the Bolger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Louise Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Snyder Cemetery under Bolger Funeral Home direction. A Blackwell native, she had lived here for 46 years.

Man From Odessa Sentenced To Life For Slaying

Odessa AP reports Clyde Hendrix, 43, was sentenced to life in prison for the killing of Dwight Dwain Creek More, 31, last summer.
