Hayti young inventor Burlingame has been summoned to Washington by navy officers to demonstrate his perfected device for destroying submarines and neutralizing torpedoes. He submitted two plan sets to the navy and was called to show practicality before experts, raising hopes of aiding the war effort.
Equity fourth of July picnic at Mission farm in Goodwill township is set with three speakers from Equity and Non Partisan League The Sisseton Band and Male Quarette providing music. A full program of sports races and amusements is arranged. Mrs Wm Barnett of New Erlington visited her daughter Mrs Al Oliver over the weekend.
