Dead Man's City Mourns Miner John McIntosh
John McIntosh, a pioneer miner in West Kootenay and Silverton veteran, died in Slovan Hospital last Wednesday night after a brief illness. A longtime resident near Glennarry, he worked in Silverton mines and recently at Hewitt. Funeral services were held at 10:30 this morning in New Denver, with the Silverton Miners Union in attendance.

Slocan miners vote wage cut ending long lockout
In special meetings the Slocan Mineral Unions voted to reduce wages to 3.25 per shift, allowing miners to work at any mine offering that rate. Leaders have not officialy announced details but owners plan to reopen plants soon as Wakefield, Galena and Emily Edith resume hiring. Wakefield concentrator to trial next week. Emily Edith and Galena mills to begin by early summer, signaling a hopeful season for Slocan and Silverton.

Visit to the Wakefield Concentrator by Silvertonians
Last Saturday evening a large Silverton group visited the Wakefield Concentrator thanks to Neil O'Donnell who arranged ribbons and transport. They toured the cook-house, learned of the new machinery under J. K. McRae, viewed the tramway built by Pete Lemieux, and enjoyed hospitality from Mr. M. Court. The hosts thanked for a pleasant excursion that ended with a Sunday return.
