Advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a superior laxative that cleanses the system and relieves colds headaches and fevers by acting on kidneys liver and bowels without weakening them. It claims wide medical approval and urges buyers to prefer California Fig Syrup Co product and avoid substitutes.
Tickets sold and baggage checked through to eastern points. Travelers insurance tickets also sold. J A Fennano, Agent, Direction, hours from 5 AM to 5 30 PM and 6 PM to 7 PM.
The Silver party at Carson City on September 4 1804 adopts a platform demanding free coinage of silver at 16 to 1, government ownership of telegraphs and subsidized railroads, and the abolition of national banks. It opposes lotteries and supports strong public schools and a People’s party alignment for congress.
The statement advocates enforcement of the interstate commerce act, direct election of U S senators by state voters, stricter immigration limits including exclusion of paupers criminals and contract labor, and endorses Senators Stewart Jones and Congressman Newlands for their service.
