An old advertisement promotes California Fig Syrup as a beneficial laxative and health aid. It asserts safety, urges consulting physicians for actual diseases, and claims popularity and effectiveness without medical endorsement.

The ointment relieves intense itching from eczema tetter and salt rheum and has cured many bad cases. It also eases itching piles sore nipples ped hands chilblains frost bites and chronic sore eyes. The Silver party of Nevada in state convention endorses William J. Bryan for president and Arthur Sewall for vice president, calls for remonetization of silver at 16 to 1, federal money issued by government, and abolition of national banks. It supports government ownership of telegraphs and railroads, enforcement of the interstate commerce act, and opposition to foreign labor and paupers. It endorses direct election of US senators and highlights loyalty to silver, urging unity with silver-leaning parties.
The District Court of Nevada Humboldt County issues an order of sale and foreclosure against RE Reinhart & Co plaintiffs and multiple defendants including Company D 1st Brigade Nevada National Guard. On October 22, 1896 at noon at the Humboldt County courthouse Winnemucca the property Armory Hall and adjacent buildings will be sold to satisfy the judgment. Sheriff D J Hadley will conduct the sale for cash to the highest bidder.
Notice states that sealed bids for general repair of the County Jail in Humboldt County Winnemucca Nevada must be filed with the County Clerk by September 12 1806. The Board of County Commissioners may reject any or all bids and the notice is signed by F Trousdale chairman and L F Dunn county clerk.
