Alligator Fights Cow and Calf on Georgia River Bank

A Georgia man near Dooly witnessed an alligator about seven feet long engage a cow and her calf on a sand bar by the river. The cow fought the reptile with horn and tail in a ferocious struggle, finally tossing the alligator into the water as the calf fled. The scene ends with the cow returning to the woods to shield her young. Also notes a mythic Salvadorean 180 year old Miguel Solis signing a 1722 convent document and odd household observations.
