A home treatment claims to cure drunkenness as a disease not a weakness. It promises guaranteed results for even obstinate drinkers and can be poured into tea or coffee without the drinker’s knowledge. Offered by Edwin B. Giles & Company at one dollar with full directions and physician advice.
An 19th century style advertisement claims Mrs Winslow's Soothing Syrup relieves teething pain. It says the syrup cures diarrhea wind colic and inflamed gums and gives energy. It markets a pleasant taste and credits a historic female physician for its prescription. Price is twenty five cents per bottle. Sold by druggists worldwide.
Instructions to treat corns or bunions by soaking in warm water, paring without drawing blood, applying Chamberlain's Pain Balm twice daily with five minutes of rubbing, and wearing a corn plaster for a few days. The balm is also advertised as a general liniment for sprains and bruises, sold by Brown Bros. druggists.
