Secretary Charles F. Martin reports the National Live Stock Association convention and International Live Stock Exposition will draw top officials to Chicago next month. Highlights include remarks by Secretary Wilson and Census Chief Powers on livestock value and census results, plus land, wool, irrigation, grazing plans, and a $3 million value in livestock on show.
Delegates to the national convention are urged to go to the Great Northern hotel on arrival to register with the Secretary and receive badges and coupon books. Registration continues during convention hours at Studebaker's theatre.
The Truckee Republican reports eastern California and western Nevada railroad work relies on diverse foreign crews. Chinese earn 1 per day, Japanese 110 per day, whites 176 per day, while Greeks, Austrians and others are organized into 34 crews between Gold Run and Wadsworth.
