An advertisement touts Syrup of Figs as a pure liquid laxative that cleanses the system, relieves colds, headaches and fevers, and benefits kidneys, liver and bowels without weakening them. It claims wide medical approval and warns buyers to purchase only the California Fig Syrup Co. product, in 50c or $1 bottles.
Tickets sold and baggage checked through to all eastern points. Travelers insurance tickets also sold.
C T Hille testified in the Durrant Williams case that a young man and woman entered Emmanuel Baptist church on Good Friday. He cut his left forearm twice with a razor and said he did so to end his life due to job despair. Police doubt the self harm claim and suspect a may be an effort to remove him, with an officer monitoring him by bed.
