The ad promotes Chamberlain's Eye and Skin Ointment as instantly easing itching and smarting from eczema and other skin conditions. It claims cures for severe cases and lists uses for itching piles sore nipples chapped hands children freckled eyes and chronic sore eyes. Also mentions Dr Cary's Condition Powders as a tonic blood purifier and vermifuge.
New York June 22 Cubans inform Admiral Sampson that Admiral Cervera is prepared to make a desperate effort to take his ships out of the harbor of Santiago All vessels are fully coaled and crews are refused shore leave Cervera hopes a daring dash may permit some ships to escape

General Duffield is ordered to move his brigade from Camp Alger to Fort Monroe for transport to Santiago. The brigade totals about 3000 men from the Ninth Massachusetts and the Thirty third and Thirty fourth Michigan.
