The ad claims scott s emulsion can cure consumption in early stages and especially in young people with cod liver oil and hypo phosphites of lime and soda. It says it cannot cure advanced cases but can extend life. priced at $1.00 and available at all druggists from Scott Bowne, chemists in New York.
The ad promotes Chamberlain's Eye Salve for skin itching eczema tetter salt rheum and related conditions claiming permanent cures in bad cases. It also claims usefulness for itching piles sore nipples chapped hands chilblains frost bites and chronic sore eyes. Sold by druggists at 25 cents per box. Mentions Dr Cary's Condition Powder as a tonic blood purifier and vermifuge for horses.
Washington reports Shafter's army arrives off Santiago by noon with forty nine vessels in the fleet. Direct cable communication established between Guantanamo and Washington. Blanco cut off except for Key West cable under U S control.
