An ad style fragment touts Scott's Emulsion as a remedy for exhaustion from nervous strain. It promotes cod liver oil and phosphites to enrich blood and restore nerves, urging readers to obtain the product from druggists at the listed price.
The ad promotes Chamberlain's Eye and Skin Ointment for eczema and skin diseases, claiming rapid relief and permanent cures for severe cases. Also touts it as effective for itching piles and sore nipples, chapped hands, frost bites, and chronic sore eyes, 25 cents a box. Dr Cady's Condition Powders are presented as a tonic and vermifuge for horses in poor condition.
The reserve fleet departed Cadiz with undetermined destination while in Manila insurgents press the Spanish, cutting provisions and ammunition supplies. A Guantanamo dispatch denies Marine mutilation, attributing wounds to Mauser bullets with one Marine hit by eight shots.
Advices from Guantanamo dated June 1st report US marines and Cuban forces attacking a Spanish position five miles from American entrenchments. They routed a 400-strong Spanish force. one American wounded, two Cubans killed, four wounded. Spanish casualties around forty. Also reported test fire of Vesuvius dynamite guns on Santiago de Cuba fortifications and shelling of eastern Morro Castle emplacements by the New Orleans.

Two horses escaped from Gallagher’s field near Sod House. Rewards offered for return. Local ads: emporium listings, prices, and goods for sale in Winnemucca Nevada.
