An advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pure liquid laxative improving health by cleansing the system. It claims relief from colds headaches fevers and constipation and notes the product is made by the California Fig Syrup Co and sold in 50c and 1 bottles. A separate anecdote describes a gambler amused by a breakfast table moment about mice playing poker with a kitten.
