Japanese Section Hand Killed Near Lovelock
A Japanese section hand was killed by a freight train at Wolseley near Lovelock this morning. A gang of the Japs worked on the track. all but one avoided the approaching engine, but the warning came too late. The man was struck, thrown high in the air, and died instantly.

Tragic death by own action in Lovelock shocks town
A stranger attempted suicide by stepping before a moving train in Lovelock. After being stopped by the engineer the man entered a nearby restaurant, seized a large kitchen knife, and fatally slashed his throat. A coroner's jury investigated but the outcome of the inquiry was not reported.
