Death of Nevada Rough Rider Michael Evans at 43
Michael Evans, a Nevada native and veteran of the U S Volunteer Cavalry, died suddenly near Salinas California last Thursday. He served as a private in Troop M Second Regiment and was discharged after returning from Cuba on October 2 1898 at Jacksonville Florida. He enlisted at Tuscarora and was well known there.
