An investigation extols Syrup of Figs as a pure liquid laxative that cleanses the system and relieves colds headaches and fevers without weakening the organs. Advertised as manufactured only by the California Fig Syrup Co and sold in 50 cent and 81 cent bottles by druggists.
Tickets sold and baggage cheese through to all eastern points. Travelers Insurance tickets 180 sold. J. A. Ferraro, Agent.
Postal office notices outline operating hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and an evening shift from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The text references Seingein West and indicates schedule details missing due to damaged OCR.
A Yankton dispatch reports that rainmaking experiments began ten days ago under two local citizens. One ton of chemicals was used and a recent heavy rainstorm covered more than 20 miles square, saving late corn and promising half a hay crop.
Mrs. Phebe L. Hart of Galva Kansas describes lasting illness from bilious and typhoid fevers. She recalls a brown spot above the knee that enlarged into a ring worm like lesion, resisted treatment for years before trying Hood's Sarsaparilla.
The Humboldt County Board of Commissioners met on Monday July 2 1904 and established Districts under an 1893 Nevada act. District 1 includes Willow Point Golconda Clover Valley Paradise McDermit Rebel Creek King s River Bartlett Creek precincts. District 2 covers Wintu meka precinct. District 3 includes Mill City Dun Glen Kennedy Humboldt House Rye Patch Unionville Lovelock precincts. DUNN clerk seal date noted.
Registration books for the November 6 1394 election open daily 10 am to 6 pm until October 1 1304 and from October 10 18M evenings 7 to 9 pm, at which time books close 6 pm. Humboldt County auditor submits the quarterly financial statement for the quarter ending June 30 1894 detailing cash in treasury and disbursements across funds including state warrants indigent sick salary and contingent funds with balances apportioned to school and county funds and various district accounts. The report lists numerous fund allocations to school funds redemption and interest accounts and road and fire funds among others, reflecting a comprehensive county financial snapshot from Willow Point to Winnemucca and surrounding districts.
The auditor concludes the report detailing bonded debt and fund allocations. It notes 52000 on indigent and contingent funds, 12746.62 on redemption, and 44825.4 as school district indebtedness. The report lists outstanding school warrants and sums for Pleasant Valley and Winnemucca counties. J J Hill signs as county auditor. P Laverga as county treasurer confirms June 30 entries as correct.
