Rich strike reported at West Camp Texas mine face
Reports detail a rich ore strike at West Camp on Steptoe Creek with a drift crossing and a new vein ending in a three foot ore streak near the wall. Assays ranged from 4 to 8 dollars per ton with a rare segment yielding 119 dollars per ton. Free quicksilver noted and ore described as honey combed with red green and yellow mineralization. The owners sunk a shaft to fifty feet and pushed crosscuts east and west across a vein 74 feet total with no wall sighted yet.
