The local high school opened Monday with a larger attendance than in several years. Preliminary work filled the first day with lesson assignments and preparations, and classes began in earnest Tuesday. Grades start one week from next Monday and officials expect a sizable turnout for the school year.
A notice states Robert McFarland and family moved from their Peru farm to a new address in McMinnville Tennessee. The RECORD is sent to the family’s updated location.
William Wederick will teach at Hastings west of Milford this winter and open the school one week from next Monday. He previously taught there last winter with great patron satisfaction and is engaged to teach the coming term.
Mrs Ferrerda presents thirty numbers by her pupils at the Norman Tucker home last Saturday evening. The program was rendered flawlessly by all performers, reflecting credit on the teacher's training. A large audience of parents attended and refreshments followed.
Mr and Mrs T B Hathaway relocate from their Biz Four station property to a farm north of town. George Newhouse and family plan to move into the vacated house as the Hathaway family moves.

The funeral of Squire George H. Bright was held at Nichols church west of Silver Lake on Monday afternoon. Bright was past 84 years old and well known by older residents who recalled his residence in the area about thirty years ago.
Rev Levi Hill from the southwest area attended an ordinance meeting of the Church of God in Syracuse over Sunday. His parents W W Hill and his wife, residents of the town, stayed to care for the farm in his absence.
Socialist county convention in Warsaw chose a full ticket including Thomas J. Colbert for circuit judge and Thomas Minear for Representative. A former resident Charles Denser of Wakarusa spent several days early this week visiting old friends. He recalled living near the area with his parents about forty years ago on the farm now owned by Frank Alexander.
The marriage of Winchester C. Brady and Mrs. Jane Warren occurred Thursday at Rev. Fryberger’s home in Warsaw Indiana. The ceremony followed a quiet county seat trip for license papers and was witnessed by a few, with the couple to begin housekeeping at the groom’s home. A southbound Big Four passenger train derailed near Bolivar when struck by cattle driven along the track by Richard Watts.
