Benjamin F Bolinger died suddenly last Thursday October 12 after a lightning shock weeks earlier. His body was found in the roadway as he wheeled a wheelbarrow home from a neighbor’s where he had been filling a strawtick. The death ends a life of service and generosity. he was an old soldier and highly respected by relatives and friends.
Benjamin F. Bolinger born January 21 1843 in Findley County Ohio died October 12 191? near Silver Lake Indiana at 68 years 9 months 18 days He served three years in the 10th Indiana Infantry and moved through Olney Kentucky after the war He married Emily Day in Olney and had one son who died at 23 He later married Mary Dillman in Mexico Indiana on March 29 1899 The couple left four step children His faith remained with the Baptist church Funeral services were held Saturday at the United Brethren church with interment in Lakeview Cemetery Rev Noah McCoy officiating.
Teachers from Lake Township met at the high school institute last Saturday. All attendees were present and an excellent program was rendered.
No preaching services were held at the Lutheran church last Sunday evening due to there being no lights.

Rev. W. H. Rittenhouse and his family moved to Bourbon and were assigned a pastorate there by the U. B. Conference in Roxomo after he had left ministry for ill health and recuperated on a farm west of town.
