Jacob Teeter, about sixty, died Saturday morning at his home two miles southwest of town after several weeks of ill health. He spent most of his life in the area and was known for years in real estate. Funeral held Monday per local obituary notices.
John W Shireman 64 died Sunday morning November 11 at his Akron home after about a week of illness. Born July 3, 1859 in Miami County he was one of six children and is survived by his wife two sons and one daughter. He leaves three brothers Noah Akron Douglas Rose Hill and Charles Fort Wayne.
Fire alarm sounded around noon Tuesday at the J F Clymer residence west of town. Firefighters found the blaze was only a chimney burning out, posing no further danger.
Information reached us Thursday morning of a Parent Teachers Association meeting to be held Thursday evening in the High School building. The program includes music by the orchestra, the largest musical organization in this part of the state, and other numbers. All school patrons and interested parties urged to attend.
A dozen or more fans traveled Wednesday evening to view the Huntington versus Pierceton basketball game. Pierceton won the contest with a 29 to 27 victory.
Charlies Flenner of Mentone spent a brief stop in town Monday to visit friends. He has long delivered brand for the Mentone bakery to nearby towns and is said to have an enormous output.
Mrs Charlot Pagan of Detroit arrived Tuesday for a week with her mother Mrs Huldah Keesey. Pagan will then return to Detroit and spend the winter with her daughters in Detroit New York and Washington.
Forrest Knepper, Etna Green, chairman of the County Farm Bureau and manager of the Warsaw Co-Operative Marketing Station, was in town last Friday to advocate Farm Bureau activities.
Sunday afternoon and evening guests Miss Hilda Tracy Miss Mildred Tracy Miss Maradean Tridle and Winni fred Gillispie enjoyed a very pleasant time at the home of Miss Arminnie Young.
Paul Smith and his wife, who have lived on the Walburn property for several months, will move to the Mrs. Keesey property after this week. The transition names both residences and assigns new occupancy.
Rev Grow of the local U B church will begin revival services in Packerton next Sunday, November 25, with the Gaddy Ensley party arriving December 5 to assist. The event features Rev Gaddy’s sermons from recent Union Meetings, a large chorus led by Mr Ensley, and Miss Burkholder of Ohio at the piano.
O Ebert of Hollywood California visited Dayton Tuesday with his brother W F Ebert and wife. They attended to business matters and took a day to pause here. The brothers had not met for years and enjoyed a pleasant visit southeast of town.
Twenty eight ladies called on Mrs. Huldah Keesey and her daughter on Tuesday evening bringing baskets of apples trays of candy and sacks of popcorn. They spent an enjoyable evening and left with a cordial invite to repeat the occasion in the spring.
A two year old boy, Max Coble, son of Mr and Mrs John Coble of the southeast area, suffered a severe crush injury to his right hand when caught in a power washer. The injury required amputation of the first two fingers to save the hand.
Dean Hill and his family moved from Warsaw to Claypool last week and will reside in the sister town as he pursues business interests there.
On Sunday December 2 Golden Rule Sunday urges people in Indiana and elsewhere to skip large dinners and instead share a sacrificial meal. Funds saved will feed 100,000 orphans in Near East Bible lands, with Indiana Near East Relief seeking $50,000. President Coolidge endorses the campaign and expresses support from national and local groups.

A banquet is planned at 6 o clock with local society members likely to attend to gain knowledge and discuss Indiana Endeavor plans.
Rev. A. J. Carey longtime Northern Indiana Methodist pastor died at 78 in Warsaw after a brief illness. Civil War veteran served three years in Ohio volunteers and held leadership roles in I O O F and G A R. Funeral held in Warsaw with interment in Plymouth. survived by widow and two sons. He often preached locally and spoke at I O O F Decoration Day services.
The four year old son of Mr and Mrs Simmons residing on the Newton Herendeen farm four miles east of town suffered a left hand injury while playing with a wooden stick. A fragment struck the index finger and lacerations forced amputation just above the first joint.
Miss Mabel Groninger, daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Groninger living northwest of Warsaw, has resigned her post as ticket agent at the Interurban station.
The Jesse Lynch sale at his place northeast of town today Thursday drew many buyers. It began at 10 30 with two auctioneers and aimed to finish before late afternoon.
Drs. E. L. Hay and R. E. Snoberger from Goshen visited friends on Wednesday and spent several hours hunting with another doctor. They reported a pleasant time.
Evangelist Rev. Carl Gaddy visited town and announced a new revival series in Bourbon at the U B church led by Pastor Rev. SB Hill. The meeting started last week with strong interest from the outset.
Dr Foster Sheller of Manchester held a sale of household goods last Friday at his home and the family will soon relocate to Albuquerque New Mexico where he intends to open a dental parlor.
Mrs. Russell Jontz of the north east of town gave birth to a baby on November 10. The mother has shown no improvement for a week or more and is in a very serious condition with little hope for recovery.
Clem Teeter has returned to California after several weeks here. His wife remains behind for now. He has sixty days left to complete twelve years in the Navy and may re-enlist for four more years.
Miss Ada Hepler, longtime bookkeeper at the Brande packing house in Rochester, left for her home and will be employed at the Brande packing house there for a week or more. The local creamery and packing house will continue operating for several weeks.
Mrs Minnie White aged about 60 died at her Warsaw residence last Friday evening. Her son found the lifeless body on the bed when he returned from work. Indications point to an attack of acute indigestion and heart trouble as the cause while she was seated on the edge of the bed.
Eight men were arrested Saturday and Sunday in Elkhart County for violations of state hunting laws, signaling ongoing enforcement actions.
Announcement that an open market operated with Farmers Cooperative Produce Office will soon open in Silver Lake. Cream eggs and chickens expected to be marketed. The Hiram Rager business room has been rented for the venture.
Pupils at the high school arrange two miscellaneous programs for Web Eve November 28 in the school building. An admission will be charged. Watch for the programs.
Albert Abbott 45, son of Frank Abbott of North Manchester and former Allen County sheriff, was electrocuted last Thursday evening in his Fort Wayne garage when he touched a metal switch as a high voltage line pierced a nearby wire. He was found by his wife and a neighbor boy. survived by widow, one daughter, Dayton Abbott of North Manchester, a half brother and half sister, and other relatives.
Deverelle Underhill, longtime employee at the local lumber yard, resigns to join Hamman & Hill Auto Agency in Claypool, selling Chevrolet cars. He has been on the road representing the firm, continuing his sales career.
A. McClure of Warsaw traded his property west of town to Leonard Dickey and received the Dickey home in return. The deal valued at 12,000 dollars with an additional 6,000 dollars involved in the exchange.
