Killed in Action Fred Bloom from Claypool
Mrs. Laurence Detterman of Claypool received word from Washington that her brother Fred Bloom was killed in action in France on October 28. He was about 18, served seven months in the medical department of the 61st Infantry, and is survived by his mother Lydia Beaver a brother Benford Bloom of Hikhart and sister Beulah Detterman.

Mrs E W Kinsey of Claypool died in Rochester hospital shortly after noon Tuesday. She had been a patient for a few days and the death followed pneumonia after an operation. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the M E church in Claypool with Rev J F Blocker in charge.

Warsaw Buick agent jailed for forgery sentence handed
Charles Raker of Warsaw a known Kosciusko County Buick agent was arrested on forgery charges. Too ill to flee he pleaded guilty in court with nurse and physician present. The judge sentenced him to two to fourteen years in Michigan City prison, then he was escorted by Marshal G. B. Moon to begin incarceration.

Funeral for Grandma Rhoades at Gospel Hill Church
