Elections Tuesday approved a subsidy to aid building an electric line from Peru to Akron. The measure carried by 162 votes in Hevery township Fulton county and by 95 votes in Perry township Miami county.

North Manchester College Nine opened the season with a rain interrupted game against our boys. Despite no practice the visitors managed two scores in the first inning, but finished with a 2 to 0 defeat as many spectators watched the wet clash.

State Auditor Sherrick releases the list of levies for this year. General state fund levy is twelve cents per 100 valuation and fifty cents per poll. Shot Fired Through Window Near Simeon Trump Home

Last Sunday evening unknown parties fired a bullet through the window of Simeon Trump’s residence four miles east of town. The Trump family were in the front room when the shot was fired and the bullet buried itself in the wall. No injuries are reported.

Seized with bleeding at the nose near town

John Warner, who lives east of town, while working for Thacker last Friday, began bleeding from the nose in an alarming manner. He was brought to Dr. Leckrone's office where the doctor stopped the bleeding. Warner remained conscious for a time after the episode.

Roann traveled to Silver Lake to play a game postponed by a tail storm. The Roann team notified Silver Lake they would arrive later to face our boys, with a large crowd expected and the match considered to be of interest. Our paper goes to press early, so no game report is available.

Stave Cutter Suffers Thumb Loss in Mill Accident

G. W. Hawley lost the left thumb at the first joint while taking a format stave cutting at the stave mill Monday morning. Dr. Amiss treated the injury. Hawley had previously maimed the same hand twice by a cut off saw but vows to continue learning stave cutting.

Winona Flyer to Start Service Between Indianapolis and Elkhart

The Winona Flyer will enter service with a new time card mid June, linking Indianapolis with Elkhart and communicating directly with the White City Special to Cincinnati. No. 34 departs Indianapolis 3 15 p m daily except Sunday, Warsaw 6 30 p m, arrives Elkhart 8 40 p m. No. 15 leaves Elkhart 1 30 p m, Warsaw 2 40 p m, arrives Indianapolis 6 10 p m.
