Lake Park gains trees and a steam launch for seasons run

Crowds visited the lake park last Sunday to view improvements by Rager and Pearson who own the grove. They have planted over five hundred trees cleared the grounds of brush and plan to launch a steam launch soon for the season.

Beatrice Boat to Be Renamed Myrtle Glen for Lake Launch

The gasoline boat bought by Rager and Pearson was moved from Lake Wawasee to a dry dock for repainting and readying to launch on Silver Lake when the season opens. It is a strong twenty passenger craft, expected to draw crowds this year, and may be renamed Myrtle Glen at launch. Park work continues with grounds cleanup and hundreds of new shade trees planted recently.

Sudden Death of H H Shipley at Disko

H H Shipley aged 68 died of heart failure last Friday in Disko. Mrs Shipley found him deceased after rising and finishing chores. He leaves a wife a daughter a grandchild a brother James of near Akron and a sister Mrs Aaron Landis of near Bethel church. Funeral at Vincenza Sunday at 2 pm conducted by Rev M S Hagerty Baptist minister of Anderson.
