Many residents report varied health conditions as sickness remains widespread yet fewer new cases appear. Joen Fitton shows improvement while Mrs. Wm Wiley remains bedridden with little hope of recovery. others like Mrs. Fitton and Jacob House move about, and BE Baker and Mrs. Ira Coy recover steadily.
Mrs KB E Spangle received word on Tuesday that her mother Mrs Cuthboring Irvin was quite sick in the.
A brief item notes a soldier has resided at the Lafayette soldiers’ home for several years, indicating a stable domestic placement and ongoing veteran care arrangements.
Horton Hill remains in a very critical condition at the home of his sister Mrs. Joan Rowland in Warren, suffering from pneumonia after a period of illness.
Mr and Mrs J F Clymer of nest of town were both ill last week with flu and are now much improved and able to be about their home.
Mrs H G Jontz is able to be up at home after a fall bruising her knee and a brief bout with erysipelas. Rozella Reese, recently operated on in Warenaw, arrived home and is cheerful. Mrs William Snake, recovering from a paralysis stroke, can move about and help at home. Samuel Smith, struck by influenza with asthma, shows partial improvement. Mrs George Lafong near town recovers slowly while William Miller with paralysis grows stronger and can talk and sit periodically.
The latest report from Rev. J T Keesey states his condition remains about the same but he is growing weaker daily. He has been in failing health for several years and confined to his home for about a year.
Otto Sands was on our streets Monday. A fair attendance at the Center last Sunday and revival services in Claypool drew many. Horton Hill remains in serious condition. Roads still hard to traverse in places. Ed Wiley of Bourbon visited en route to Silver Lake. Winter weather touched the area briefly, but Sunday was a near spring day with temperatures near 8 to 10 above zero at night.
Examinations for the eighth grade will be held on April 21 and May 19. Semi annual exams for the grades will occur on April 12 and 13 according to County Superintendent Bruner.
The Silver Lake circuit will hold preaching at South Pleasant 9:30 am Silver Lake 10:45 am Disko 7:30 pm Sunday. Everyone is warmly invited to attend and support with their presence. J. L. Sturgell, Pastor.
