Mrs. Elizabeth Vangilder died in Plymouth at over 83 years of age and was mother to twelve children nine sons and three daughters. Her funeral was held last Saturday afternoon and George Snure, who traveled from southeast of Plymouth, attended due to his sister’s death and funeral.
To observe its centennial next October South Bend will stage a grand open air pageant spanning a week. The event will feature participation by every society club and fraternal group and will showcase the city’s history from founding to its rise as the third city in Indiana with thousands taking part.

Fletcher Stoner of Akron died at his home on Tuesday evening, aged about 78, after founding a local bank over thirty years ago and amassing a fortune near 100000 dollars. He leaves a widow and three children. He was a first cousin of Dr. Harding, father of President Warren G. Harding, and was the third first cousin of Dr. Harding to die in five weeks, with others in Lima and Chesterton, Ohio.
In Warsaw last Friday a suit by George Merkle George B Pontius Embra W Kinsey and Claude I Tully seeks a receiver and dissolution of the Claypool Basket and Box Company. Defendants Walter D Hoover and Chester Hoover are named with allegations of failed oral agreements and lack of cash financing. The plaintiffs claim they advanced 1700 to form the corporation to manufacture baskets at Claypool. The action charges officers diverted bank funds to hide the company’s finances from Embra Kinsey, bank president. The business began last summer in Claypool with the Claypool foundry building purchased and repairs made, and baskets have been produced in recent months.

Abe Metzger celebrated his 75th birthday Sunday March 18 at his northeast of here home. About thirty guests attended bringing baskets as Mrs Metzger prepared a bountiful meal. Present were Samuel Smith Ezra Metzger Clarence Helvey Joe Parker Roy Merkle Edwin Ervin Dorsey Smith and families.
Senior editor of the REcoRD receives a box of California oranges. The item includes an annual remembrance from M. F. Bechtel of Los Angeles, once a Silver Lake resident over forty years ago, with thanks noted.

The Milton Garrison household goods were moved from Wabash on Tuesday and they will occupy the Tridle property one square south of the Methodist church. Garrison bought the Pearson building from J. L. Sausaman recently, opened a restaurant there last Saturday, and is serving meals and lunches along with cigars candies and canned goods.
Dorothy Shoemaker, daughter of Albert and Mrs Wood, was granted a divorce in Warsaw circuit court on Monday. The plaintiff received $500 alimony and $3 weekly child support for custody of her son, with Shoemaker ordered to pay $100 in attorney fees.

Her sister Mrs H A Martindale had returned home from Plymouth after being called for the illness.
Taken to the home of her daughter Mrs. Win Warner and husband in Mentone Wednesday she had been confined to her own home most of the winter. She stood the trip well and the change is hoped to benefit her health.
Mrs Julius Magnin, gravely ill with kidney and bladder trouble, was taken to Warsaw hospital yesterday. She underwent an operation shortly after admission and emerged from anesthesia around noon in relief and improving, the latest reports indicating she was progressing well.
