Indiana passes a two cent per gallon gasoline tax after legislative approval and governor’s signing. Estimated to raise about three million dollars yearly for state road construction and maintenance.
A partial lunar eclipse Friday evening attracted scores in the area. The event began after eight and lasted about two hours as the moon glided through the eastern sky, appearing as if a cloud covered part of it.
A contract was awarded in Warsaw Monday afternoon to build five roads in the county with a total cost exceeding 91000 dollars. G W Newhouse of this place bid on one road and was only 56 dollars above the lowest bidder.

Township Assessor J. F. Skinner outlines a new oath sworn personal property schedule requiring listing of farm machinery livestock household goods and the number of furnished rooms. The form is described as the most complete to date and residents must sign the statement under oath.
Clarence Helvey of Jackson township was chosen by county commissioners at a Warsaw meeting on March 7 to serve as highway superintendent. Tuesday near noon four transfer trucks passed through en route to South Bend where they will be in service. F L VanTilbury a 60 year old Pennsylvania Railroad agent at Coesse and John Snyder a Civil War veteran about 75 were struck by a moving passenger train while assisting to cross the track. Both men died instantly as the engine passed.
