Local notes share Fourth of July events and mishaps
The column records a series of community items from Ashley and nearby towns. Homer Wells rises to lead a Wabash engine, a double header wreck near LaOtto is recalled, an ice cream social raises 19.37, health updates on Mrs. Walbara, and mishaps include Lewie Mendel’s broken leg and a runaway involving Miss Della Hill and a Claypool youth. The piece ends with Fourth of July wishes.
