The German Baptist Brethren brick church east of Silver Lake hosted the funeral conducted by Wider Wright of North Manchester.

Representative J. E. Eschbach acts for Syracuse and Kosciusko county against a bill to ban dredging lakes in Northern Indiana. The measure would hurt cement industry needs for marl at Lake Wawasee and protect a few pleasure seekers monopoly. Eschbach opposes it as harmful to his county and pledges to kill the proposal. The bill quickly died in the legislature.
