Hayman Brothers dispose of stock to W. Ferverda and R. M. Frye. Invoicing began Monday morning. The deal closes the year with the firm renamed St F Hardware. Ferverda, a former Big Four local agent, and Frye, long farming on Carter farm, join Hayman veteran F. D. Hayman in a new enterprise.
The masquerade and box supper hosted by the band last Friday evening drew a large crowd with many creative costumes. After expenses, the band members contributed about thirty to thirty five dollars to the organization treasurer to aid in buying new music, instruments, and meeting incidental costs.
Frank Long of Claypool remains in very critical condition after being taken to Warsaw for an operation. Doctors report the illness as a cancerous growth rather than a tumor, placing him under intensive care.
Rupert Davis returns to Pur after spending holiday vacation with his people to resume his pharmacy studies.

Marion visitors Gordon Gresso and James Jontz spent several days last week in Marion visiting Adrian. Maurer, employed at a local laundry, reports Adrian has an excellent position and is well liked by his employer and fellow workers.
The Rowland family left the Jacob Haney property after about a year and moved to a farm a mile and a half north of town on Thursday of last week. Mr Rowland built a house and planned to occupy it in about a month, prompting mixed feelings in town as neighbors mourn the move but anticipate frequent visits.
S B Class of the Mazda class of the Methodist Sunday School will meet at the home of Mr and Mrs Burdge this Thursday evening. All Members of the class are requested to be present.
A pleasant time was held at the J. D. Gill home northwest of here last Saturday. A sumptuous dinner was served to L. A. Alspaugh and family Albert Whittenberger and family Mr. and Mrs. C U Jameson Mr. and Mrs. A D Hamman James Gill Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shilling and Percy King and family totaling twenty five people.

About two weeks ago Ezra Flohr who lives southwest of town was helping to cut a tree when another tree limb fell and struck him on the head. He was unconscious for over two hours and sustained a scalp wound and multiple head and body injuries. A physician treated him and he has since improved toward a full recovery.
Ross L Smith of Akron and Irene Lyon of Mentone were issued a marriage license in Warsaw last week. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Lyon, was born in Silver Lake and has lived in Mentone. They will reside in Akron where a house is furnished. Friends extend congratulations for a long, happy life.
Here from North Dakota Ross Feigtey of Berthold has called on many old friends in town this week. Years ago he and his family lived at Rose Hill southeast of here and about twelve or fifteen years ago moved to Dakota where they have since resided.
Trustees Paulus and Hill attended the regular monthly meeting of the board of education in Warsaw yesterday.

L A Peterson of Rose Hill is seriously sick. Mrs Frye has been very ill for a week. Mrs Elwood Kerlin has been ill for several days. John Craig suffered rheumatism. The baby daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Burdge has been very ill but is improving at last report.
A revival meeting at the Brethren church led by Rev Speicher draws large attendance. Rev Noah McCoy of South Whitley is announced to preach Thursday evening and Friday evening at the OU church, with a large attendance desired.
J E Blickenstaff will hold two public sales at his home located one mile west and two miles north of the Big Four station in North Manchester on Monday.
One day last week Mrs. Sarah Fisher suffered a light stroke of paralysis and was confined to bed for several days. She moved to her daughter Mrs N W Way’s home three miles southwest of town for care and has since shown improvement. She returned to her town residence this Thursday and feels as well as weeks ago.
Calvin Gresso and his brother-in-law Charles Shull traveled to Chicago at the start of the week to handle business. They proceeded to buy a furnace and an electric lighting system for installation on the farm near Roann.

Leroy Cook and Miss Mary J. Graham were united in marriage in Franklin Indiana on Wednesday December 29 1915. Cook is grandson of Mrs. Thomas Leonard of this place and the couple visited the Leonard home here earlier this week.
A Christmas Day family gathering at Amanda Rhodes home in Etna Green included James Townsend and relatives, Pearl Townsend of Fort Wayne, Frank Townsend of Claypool, Wallace Dillman, James Needham, Nelle Heeter and daughter Helen, Ed Weaver of Silver Lake, and R. M. Self and daughter Alene in Willis ton North Dakota. The event honored Mrs. R. M. Self.
E Allen Scoles of Claypool has markedly improved in recent weeks. He has been sitting up most of the time and doctors hope his recovery will continue.
Jared Harter and family moved from the Dr. Leckrone farm northeast of here to a farm east of Warsaw, establishing their new rural home.

E A Gast of Akron recently purchased the Warsaw Daily Union and took possession last Saturday. Gast is described as an excellent young man and is welcomed into the journalistic field by regional newspaper colleagues.
James Hill of Marion, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Yotter, visited his childhood home in Silver Lake on Christmas Day. Born and raised there, he has run a tonsorial parlor in Marion for several years, and it had been nearly three years since his last return.
Miss Valera Self returns to Whit ing last Sunday after holiday visit with her parents Mr and Mrs S J Self. She serves as an instructor in the school there.

The Edward Drudge funeral was held Friday afternoon December 24 at the United Brethren church. Rev. Speicher assisted by Rev. Hardy conducted the services for a large gathering. Interment followed in South Pleasant cemetery.
Edward Drudge born April 6 1852 in Fulton Indiana died December 22 1915 at age 63 8 months 16 days. He moved to Kosciusko county in 1874 near Silver Lake married Catherine Myers in 1875 and had ten children eight surviving plus fourteen grandchildren. He was a devoted husband father and neighbor known for industry and kindness, suffered health decline three years prior but faced it with fortitude and faith, departing peacefully with family consolation.
