An exceptionally large crowd gathered last Saturday for Miller Bros livery stock and Coy store auctions. Bidders paid fair prices for many items while qaols sold below cost. Due to abundant goods, another sale was announced for Saturday February 27.
A law restricts weight limits for vehicles hauling loads on roads during wet weather or thaw. Total weight with driver must not exceed 2,500 pounds for tires three inches or less, 3,000 pounds for four inch tires, and 3,500 pounds for larger tires. Enforcement is urged to protect all.
Charles Walters residing southwest of town lost control of a team weighing corn on Friday afternoon. The horses bolted along the sidewalk toward the West and struck a wagon, breaking it. One horse fled about three blocks before it was secured.
Dukes of Warsaw receives offer to serve as vice president of the Northern Indiana Undertakers Association formed in Fort Wayne with about seventy five members.
In Warsaw last Thursday judge discharged James Garvin after ruling no convicting evidence supported the Haguer law violation charge. Four witnesses testified purchasing beer at the Garvin home but each claimed the liquor came from Joseph Garvin.
Jie Meyer known in Silver Lake area died last Saturday at Cook County infirmary near Chicago at age 77. He had long stayed there and worked at C. E. Wiltrout tailor shop, and he had many friends in Silver Lake who mourn his passing.
A pleasant last Thursday evening gathering took place at the J F Crymer residence just west of town. Attendees included Mrs Flora Zile of Warsaw Foster Miller Miss Gole Fye of Huntington and Mr and Mrs Percy Perry Mr and Mrs Earl Zile Mr and Mrs Charles Young and daughter Dorothy.
At the last gathering on Wednesday evening the S. T. club welcomed four new members, expanding the group.

The M. E. Sunday school class met at L. M. Burdge’s home last Thursday to organize. The group gathered again last evening at Miss Iva Mekerill’s residence.

Dealers expect penalties of 2000 dollars and two years imprisonment enforced by the internal revenue service. The industry notes about two million habitual users in the United States. The Delta ton Delta U B Sunday School club met Friday evening February 12 at the home of Miss Trilby Summer with twelve members present. They enjoyed music and games and had light refreshments before planning to meet again with Miss Pauline Getty on Thursday evening March 11.
Miss Verna Hloke returns to Anderson Monday after a brief visit here with her people over Sunday.
Walter Stout a medical student in Indianapolis returned home last Friday night and stayed through Monday with his family. Rantz Snoberger a Chicago dental student visited from Friday to Monday evening with his father J W Snoberger his wife and many friends.
Miss Mabel Morrett returns home for a two week visit with her parents who live west of town. She has spent six months in South Bend studying shorthand and typewriting.
A Frederick resident in poor health for months was able to go downtown one day last week. He is improving and signs point to continued recovery with the approach of warmer spring days.
