Mrs. Inez Cling, 30, of 215 East Movument avenue, accidentally ingested a dangerous creosote and carbonate of mercury mixture. Prompt antidotes by Motorceps Heywood and McMinns and timely medical care at Miami Valley hospital led to stomach pumping and a recovery.
A tract of five and three quarter acres at the northeast edge of town was disposed to Alex Netzen by Hiram Bager on Monday. The land lies four drive squares from Netzen’s home and will provide ample space for farming.
AH R Taylor of the Miller farm northwest of here enrolled his name on the RECORDS subscription list last Saturday. The jolly resident and his family are expected to enjoy reading Sue Records in the coming year.

Work on repairs at the Lutheran church progresses well and is expected to finish next week if no delays occur. Interior walls are redecorated and furniture is being refinished, presenting a very pleasing appearance.
William Dahblem and his family, residents for twenty one years northwest of town, moved Tuesday to an 823 acre farm five miles northeast of Warsaw. The Dahlen family are highly regarded and neighbors regret their departure while praising their qualities and recommending them to their new community.
Sylvester Johnston trades farm north west of town for a larger place about a mile and a half north west of Warsaw. The Johnston family will soon move to their new home after residing in the area for years.
Silver Lake edged Milford last Friday in a high school basketball clash at the Milford gym with the home team securing the victory.
Mrs. Valentine of Claypool and her sister Minnie Whittle traveled to Liberty Mills on Tuesday to attend the funeral of their aunt Mrs. Mary Kissinger.
Mrs. Mary Rantz, who spent the winter with her daughter Mrs. C. B. Lunsford and family at Gays Mills Wisconsin, was expected to return home today Thursday after an extended visit.
A message received last Sunday by 8 J Self announced the death of his nephew Marion Self in Detroit Michigan on Saturday evening He was about 34 years old and had suffered tuberculosis The remains were taken to Fort Wayne for the funeral held yesterday S J Self of the local area attended the funeral in Fort Wayne.
A series of revival meetings was begun last evening at the Methodist church conducted by Rev. Hardy. Attendance last evening was quite large.
Arthur Getty has suffered rheumatism for about a week or more and finds it difficult to move about his home leaving him largely confined indoors.
The Zimmerman residence just west of the Paulus building is undergoing repairs. Two rooms are being enlarged and other improvements made. J. W. Yates is doing the work.
Rev. Levi Aili led meetings at the Franklin church three miles west of town for five weeks. The revival records twenty three conversions and nine or ten seekers not fully converted when the meeting closed. This was Rev. Hill's first series conducting alone and he was very successful.
Mr and Mrs Alvin Hill returned from South Bend last Thursday evening. The hospital physician decided the planned operation would have been of no real benefit, so it was not performed.
Miss Clara Frantz, a teacher in the primary department, is confined at home east of town with mumps. Miss Bessie Carr is filling in at her classroom.
Mr and Mrs Joe Swihart residing northeast of town will move to Silver Lake and occupy the Thacker property on East Sycamore Street now used by the George Newhouse family. Swiharts daughter Mrs Henry Shepherd and her family from North Manchester have moved onto the farm and will reside there.
Edward Hay, a dental student at Indianapolis, is progressing well. He scored ninety on a recent exam, placing him at the head of his class.
Present indications point to a busy year with several new houses planned in Silver Lake this summer and many dwellings undergoing repairs. Carpenters and workers will have ample demand as the housing shortage hopes to ease with at least six new homes expected by year end.
Artie Carr, residing north of town, has been appointed rural carrier on route number one out of this place. He will begin duties March 1 and will not move to town, continuing to live on his farm and drive back and forth each day.
Francis Rager sold his North Jefferson Street house to Mont Hamman. Hamman will relocate the house to his lot in Fairview addition east part of town and a bungalow dwelling will be erected on the old site as soon as the move is complete and weather allows.
A series of sales drew sizable crowds last weekend with L. D. Underhill recovering from indigestion after a sick spell. A large turnout gathered for Keller and Sheely sale Tuesday and Harry Kline sale yesterday. Today’s C. E. Lester sale also drew a strong crowd. Items offered brought fair prices.
Postmaster M. Da Yotter attended a county wide meeting in Warsaw on Tuesday. Rural carriers also gathered in the afternoon with Wiley and Snyder present from the local area.

Last week Jacob Haney and Mont Hamman arranged a transfer of a Fairview lot just east of the P. F. Helser residence. Hamman will relocate the recently bought house onto the lot when weather permits and aim for quick occupancy. The new residence will enhance Silver Lake’s ongoing improvements.
Members of the Winner class of the M. M. Sunday school were entertained at the home of Rev and Mrs. Hardy last Thursday evening.
The two sons of Mr and Mrs F V Zinsmerman of Brazil are ill with whooping cough. It is hoped they will recover.
Mrs. Dennis Dulany of North Manchester returned home last Saturday after seven weeks away. She underwent an operation in Bend and spent nine days in a hospital before moving to a relative’s home. Since returning she is able to be about the house with help. Her husband Mr. Dulany is now confined to his home with a severe attack of lagrippe.
Mr and Mrs Alvin Bowen moved onto the Thad McClure farm located southwest of town marking a new residence transition for the couple in the rural area.
A surprise farewell party was held Thursday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs A J Kreamer southeast of town. About forty neighbors attended and an oyster supper was served as the Kreamer family prepares to move to a new home in the east part of town.
A letter from Alonzo Durbin of Kelso Washington accompanied a dollar for another year of the RECORD. Durbin, a former local resident, says the family cannot get along without the news from old friends and neighbors. The note states the family is getting along fine.
Mrs Hannah Getty, staying with her daughter Mrs W S Harvey and husband in Indianapolis since last April, was seized by a severe spell last Sunday and has since remained in serious condition. Getty has been an invalid for several years.
An ad from Johnson's Repair Shop in Silver Lake invites customers to repair worn shoes at the local shop. The notice promotes expert mending and ongoing service for footwear.
