Mr Clayton Dead After Long Illness Near Milford
Scott Clayton died at his home west of town on Thursday forenoon after several years of declining health. He was nearly 60, survived by his widow a son Samuel a sister two brothers and a half brother. The Clayton family moved from Milford to a local farm fifteen years ago and he was active in the Odd Fellows lodge. Funeral arrangements had not been finalized at press time.

Raid on Burnsworth Farm Leads to Moonshine Evidence
Officials with search warrants raided the Burnsworth farm northeast of Pierceton last Friday afternoon finding about a quart of moonshine in two bottles a 50-gallon mash barrel cracked corn and several 5-gallon cans. No still was visible and it is believed the still was removed recently. Care Burnsworth was arrested Saturday afternoon pled guilty to operating a still and was sentenced to the penal farm for sixty days plus a $100 fine. Three other sites were checked with evidence obtained but no arrests then.
