Leander F. Hanes died Sunday night February 3 at his Waabash home after a brief illness kidney trouble weakened him for a year. Born near Silver Lake July 23 1855 he was 53 years 6 months and 10 days. He married Martha White in 1575 and later moved to Wa bash with son Ernest to run Hanes & Son livery. Survived by wife two children Ernest Hanes and Mrs Arthur Athinson four brothers George Ashland Wis Walam and Silas Silver Lake and Jen Kewanna and one sister Elzabeth Moarrison Smith Center. Funeral at home then Silver Lake with burial at Shady Grove.
