Death of Jacob Rager Aged 80 in Local Home

Jacob Rager a longtime local resident died at his home Saturday January 30 1915 at 740 am after an acute kidney and bladder illness He was 80 years 9 months and 21 days old The death followed a brief prior illness and he was widely known and respected His son Francis was in New York and did not arrive home until Sunday While another son Esta from Lordsburg California reached town Tuesday evening

Obituary for Jacob Rager of Silver Lake Indiana

Jacob Rager born April 9 1834 in Lancaster County Pennsylvania and interred in Silver Lake. He married Catharine Kilne in 1861 and had five children Melvin Thomas Francis Esta born in Lordsburg California and an infant who died in 1863. He lived over sixty years in Silver Lake and was a leading local businessman and devout Christian. He leaves a wife four children one brother one sister eight grandchildren and many relatives.

Funeral held at U B Church with large attendance

The funeral was held Wednesday at two o'clock at the U B Church with Rev Fryberger assisted by Revs Park and Hindbaugh. A large concourse of friends and relatives attended. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery.
