Myers Family Trip Westward From Peru to California

Mr and Mrs A L Myers and their son Glenn return from a lengthy tour starting Nov 15 from Peru. They visited Chicago Toledo Hamptons Iowa Salt Lake City Brigham Canyon and Escondido California enjoying the climate and sights. They purchased a home near Escondido and plan to return to Peru in February after visiting Arizona and Kansas along the way.

A couple tied the knot in North Manchester on Wednesday evening, marking a quiet local wedding. Guests reported a simple ceremony and well wishes from family and friends in attendance.

Death of Samuel Leighty Noted War saw farmer dies from gangrene

Samuel Leighty a well known Kosciusko county farmer died at his home near Warsaw on Monday morning at age 52. Gangrene from a sprained limb led to amputation being considered but his heart condition prevented surgery. Survived by his wife four children a sister Mrs Susan Crouse of Warsaw and two brothers Daniel in Michigan and George near Warsaw. Committeemen chosen at Lake township caucuses

Republican precinct caucuses in Silver Lake named committeemen and district delegates. In the first precinct E A Arnold was chosen committeeman with Thomas Kreiter as district delegate and Abner Moyer as alternate. In the second precinct C B Deaton was chosen committeeman with T S Keller as district delegate and Thomas Groninger as alternate.

Aid Society Meeting at Eel River Home

The Eel River Aid Society met February 2 at Abraham Smith’s home with 37 ladies attending. Rebecca Montel led devotional exercises as president. Donations included cash and sewing supplies. money spent on sewing. two aprons sold and seven dollars sent to St. Joseph Mo Mission. Next meeting March 2 with Mrs. Calvin Perry.

Mrs. Sarah Weimer of Claypool fell on an ice covered walk near her home last Saturday morning. The fracture to her left limb and hip was very bad and doctors fear permanent crippling. Dr. Cary assisted in setting the fracture.
