Miss Ethel Sonefrank six was hit by a motorcycle on a county road after crossing to join her parents. Howard Green jumped clear and was injured. doctors feared skull fracture but condition updated as head injuries with unconsciousness. No blame on the rider as the girl stepped into the path and the accident was deemed nearly unavoidable.
Dr J C Hay and family and S BR Burdge and family camped at Yellow Creek lake yesterday planning a ten day stay at the Dew Drop Inn for the outing.
EE. M. Paulus and wife with another couple from Louisville Kentucky visited Elkhart yesterday on their way home after a ten day vacation. Paulus, a former Silver Lake boy, had not been in the old town for many years and was accompanied by his parents William Paulus and other relatives.
Wednesday morning the post office faced a busy hour with twenty one mail sacks from one train. The sacks weighed about a half ton, marking the largest arrival in months and signaling rising business in Silver Lake.

Mrs Barbara Baker dies early Sunday at her daughter Mrs Anna Molenhour home in Mentone after years of paralysis and failing health. She would have been 91 and is survived by her daughter, son Dennis Dulaney, and another daughter Mrs Ezra Creager. three siblings remain from a family of five.
Mr and Mrs J D Cline and Mr and Mrs Charley Flenner, residents near town, attended a Sunday birthday dinner at Wash Horn's Big Foot home. The event honored Mrs J D Cline Mrs Charley Flenner and Mrs Merle Flenner all sharing August birthdays. Ma and Mrs Merl Flenner live with Grandpa and Grandma Horn.
Lizzie Adams begins work at the Pearson restaurant Monday filling the vacancy from Ethel Nelson resignation. Adams previously worked there as an A Nol cook several years ago.
Pierceton approved a dry status last Thursday by a 95 vote majority. An enormous turnout marked the election with nearly all eligible voters participating.
