Roosevelt Nominated by National Progressive Party

Theodore Roosevelt was nominated for president by the national progressive convention in Chicago at 5:40 p.m. after the suspension of all rules. Governor Hiram W. Johnson of California was mentioned for vice president and the nomination followed, with Roosevelt and Johnson speaking before the convention closed at 7:25 p.m after a Doxology.

Aged Lady Passes After Long Widowed Life Near Town

North of town in the early hour this Thursday morning an elderly woman, over ninety, died at her home. She had been a widow for nearly fifty years and leaves three children. Funeral services were held Saturday from the home with interment at Loeteberg.
