Pioneer Woman Margaret Sebring 1816 1903 Funeral in Kosciusko

Margaret Richerson Sebring died August 2 1903 at age 86 7 7. She was born in Hamilton County Ohio married Warren A Sebring February 8 1840. The family moved from Indiana to Kosciusko County where the funeral was held August 4 at Funk church and interment in Hills cemetery. Rev Samuel Leckrone officiated with out of town mourners listed.

Our stave factory under new management shines locally

The Donaldson stave factory at this place, bought from Dunbar and Mathews, began in March and has produced over a million staves. It employs about twenty workers, with capacity up to twenty thousand staves daily. Three timber haulers work for the plant, two by year. A two car shipment went out last week despite timber delays. Donaldson brings fifteen years of experience, his sons James and Ted assist, ensuring continued success.

Asleep in a Boat Causes Excitement in Yellow Creek Camp

Uncle Jacob Rager, a long time fisherman, dozes in a boat at Yellow Creek lake during a Roger Bowen camp outing. Residents notice the boat appears empty and alarm spreads before rescuers reach the craft to find Uncle Jake asleep in the bottom of the boat. He has not slept since and remains asleep as the incident unfolds.

Saints of God Hold Camp Meeting by Yellow Creek Lake

The Saints of the Church of God schedule their general annual camp meeting August 13 to 23 on the banks of Yellow Creek Lake four miles south of Barker and five miles southwest of Olaypoo. About forty able ministers are expected including A. D. Kahn a converted Mohamadan recently from India. Water and refreshments available. entrance to the grounds free.

A RECORD reporter witnessed a sequence of pranks at Charles Pearson’s home involving Ted Donaldson who used a borrowed key. Ted slept through attempts to wake him while Charley orchestrated a water throwing from a second story window. Ted retaliated by dumping water on James Arthus and Miss Linn, nearly drenching them.
