Two popular Argos youths, Miss Jessie W. Schlosser and Hugh D. Hill, were united in marriage Wednesday evening July 19 at eight o clock. Rev. G Hartman Hright conducted the ring ceremony at the M E church parsonage. The bride, daughter of Mrs Anna Schlosser, is an Argus high school graduate and former clerk and stenographer for O L Grossman furniture. The groom, a Silver Lake native with time in Alberta, is a barber with Ohler Hill. They will reside in the Schafer home on Broadway.
Edward Schoch has failed to land a good catch daily but remains hungry and maintains a turtle supply. Mrs Schoch prepares turtle soup described as the finest one would care to eat.
Elder B E Kester of the Church of the Brethren and Elder E G Denney of the Church of Christ will debate starting August 8, one and a half miles west of Stoner’s Station on the Winooa interurban line. Two sessions daily will cover the identity of the two churches in doctrine and practice.
An old ad copy touts Electric Bitters as the best blood purifier for fighting disease germ invasion. It claims the tonic purifies blood, strengthens nerves, builds health, and cures pimples boils eczema saltrheum and sores. Mentions C. T. Budahn of Tracy California and retailers Rager and Jontz offering bottles for 50 cents.
An item notes vocal and instrumental music being sold at the Record Office for only ten cents per copy. The brief highlights affordable music offerings and a call to purchase directly from the office.
Ed Schoch of Fort Wayne spends a month at Myrtle Glenn park where lights vanish after 10 PM. He fears the dark and returns to town with his “bodyguard” lantern, which is often out or filled with water, leaving him lost until oil and a wary march to the lake.

Alvin Bowen and his wife departed Monday afternoon for Fort Collins Colorado to establish residence and remain there for an extended period.
Davis Bros relocate their stock to the Paulus corner and expand to a large line of groceries dry goods gents furnishings and general merchandise now offered at their new room with an increased stock.
Last Saturday evening several young girls sat in the O. F. Brown car parked north of Fitton store. One girl moved a lever, the auto rolled downhill into a hitching post, broke a lamp and smashed the radiator, causing several dollars in damage and frightening nearby horses.
A Surprise Last Sunday July 30 marked Mrs. David Spencer’s 62nd birthday. Family and friends from Roanoke Huntington North Manchester Pierceton Claypool Warsaw Burket and nearby gathered at her home with baskets and gifts for a pleasant day. She received many valuable and useful presents.
Percy Tullis and Miss Jessie Landis, residents of the southwest outskirts, were united in marriage in Warsaw last week.
Lizzie Adams goes on a ten day vacation and Miss Iva McKrill fills her operator post at the Mutual Telephone Company in this locality.
Attendees included Mr and Mrs Jacob Bouse and daughters Hazel and S E Aker and sons Chester and Gus Bouse with wives, John Miller and Mrs S B Flora. Mrs Adams was sister to Mr Miller and Mrs Jacob Bouse.
