Worker Injured at Liberty Mills Amid Machinery Accident

Tuesday evening Harry Bouse, an employee of Frantz and Grist contraction, suffered severe injuries to his right arm when his hand slipped into a mixing machine while cleaning up. The wound exposed bone and required twenty five stitches. He was treated by Dr. Perry at North Manchester and hospitalized briefly before returning home.

Mrs Joshua Ring Dies After Illness Near Town

Mrs Joshua Ring died at her home northeast of town after a several week illness from complications. She was nearly 60 years old and is survived by her husband, one son, and one daughter. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon with services conducted by Rev. Fryberrer.

Pleasant surprise honors Mr and Mrs Gresso at home

A pleasant surprise was held for Mr and Mrs Samuel Gresso at their home Wednesday evening. About forty attendees shared an enjoyable evening. The hosts will move to North Manchester next week and the Record is thanked for the kind friendship.

Funeral return from Lima after granddaughter's service

Mrs. John Flora attended the funeral in Lima Ohio for her granddaughter and returned home Wednesday at noon. She was accompanied by her daughter Bessie and sons Bertie and Ray on the trip.

Edwin Brady Dies After Long Illness Near Disko

Edwin Brady aged 63 died at his home three miles southwest of Disko last Thursday after a sixteen month battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife a son and daughter two brothers and two sisters and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home last Friday with burial in Lakeview Cemetery.

Escape in Burdge furniture store incident

G. W. Sherbondy entered Burdge furniture store and was locked in when Mr. Burdge left for supper. The visitor used the back door and a telephone to escape after a brief confinement inside the shop.

Farmers Bank Moves into Robinson Building as Fitton Store Is Cleared

The Farmers Bank relocates furniture and fixtures to the Robinson building just south of its former site. Work begins removing Fitton Hamman shelving and transferring stock to the vacated space. After demolition of the Fitton building a modern brick bank building will rise on Silver Lake’s landmark site formerly occupied by Fitton’s grocery.

Death of Mrs Snooke at Northwest Home After Illness

Early Monday morning Mrs Catherine Snooke died at her northwest town home after several weeks of illness from dropsy and complications. She was the widow of the late Phillip Snoke and had been in usual health until recent weeks when her condition declined until her peaceful passing.

Roy Keplinger of Frantz Grist construction near Liberty Mills suffered severe crushing injuries to the two middle fingers of his right hand while moving heavy I beams last week. He will be unable to work for several weeks.

Silver Lake High School Alumni Elects Officers and Adopts Constitution

Alumni of Silver Lake high school held their annual business meeting after a class day at Bismark's theatre. Officers elected were D. F. Hamman president, Mrs. Roy Hanes vice president, L. M. Burdve secretary-treasurer, with an executive committee to be named. They adopted the constitution and by laws and planned to meet in 1917 larger. Members also approved a twenty five cent annual assessment and confirmed duties of officers.

Couple Move to Bloomington for Summer School

Mr and Mrs Dave Wood moved from Burket to Bloomington the first of the week to attend school this summer. Mr Wood was an instructor in Burket schools and his work was satisfactory. He has been retained.

Prof H S Hippensteel director of Manchester College died in a Fort Wayne hospital Tuesday after an operation for internal poisoning.
