Last Saturday W W Hill and son Otho had a runaway near Urlas Cline place while hitched to a colt. Otho suffered a broken arm above the wrist with facial injuries from mud. The father escaped serious harm. Dr Leckrone set the arm and Otho recovers well.
Artie Zimmerman has taken a clerk position at W. A. Swihart general store and began work on Monday morning. Foster Miller is employed as a clerk at the Star Restaurant and started last Monday morning.
A man named Bill dined with Sam Clymer at his farm on Thursday, arriving about 10 a.m. and staying until 11:30. Sam served fried ham and eggs with coffee, and the visit included Bill’s remark about a gallon bottle of Fishbait, an apple juice drink, which was said to be scarce around the residence.
At John Olinger's Claypool home on Thursday April 13 Reverend C J Miner united John Seifred and Mrs Martha Olinger both of North Manchester in matrimony. After the ceremony refreshments were served and the couple will reside in North Manchester.

The Gresso Bechtelheimer Co opened last Friday evening to strong crowds. Doors opened at seven and the store quickly filled with visitors admiring decor and stock. Carnations were given as souvenirs, and attendants offered refreshments and music. The hosts were praised for a successful launch and promising trade.

The Akron News profiles Rev. Titus M. Hill recently appointed to the Akron pastorate. A farmer’s boy from near South Pleasant by Silver Lake, he brings his bride Miss Strain and a background from Taylor University. Hill preached Sunday morning and planned services at Pleasant Hill and Gilead.
