Mrs. Anna Amiss returns to Huntington with her mother Mrs. Hannah Armey to assist in moving into the recently purchased Rhodes property in the town's east section. The daughter helps as the family settles into the new residence.
Soldiers and widows of the War of 1812 and the Civil War must file exemption in April to receive the benefit. A $1000 exemption is allowed if the value of the assessable property does not exceed $25,000.
State board of election commissioners ruled women cannot vote in any primary ballots due to lack of proper legislation. The May 4 decision follows a recent meeting and confirms women’s exclusion from primary office elections.

John K. Bucher died at his home southwest of town after several weeks illness with complications. He served over three years as a private in Co C 16th Ohio. E. B. Maurer attended his brother Jacob Maurer’s funeral in North Manchester after being called there earlier in the week. The service was held Saturday.
