Glenn Paulus left town last Thursday for Camp Shelby after a several days furlough visiting his parents Mr and Mrs Monroe Paulus north of town and many friends. He is reported to be in fine health and good shape.

Surprise visit honors Rev Singer at Sunday school home

About thirty members of the Mazda class surprised Rev and Mrs Singer at their home on a Wednesday evening. Light refreshments followed a good time. The couple received a set of silver knives and forks as a token of remembrance and appreciation for his services while minister there.

The Great Lakes Naval Training Station Band directed by John Philip Sousa will perform in Warsaw on Sunday April 14 to aid the Liberty Loan. Jesse H. Eschbach arranged the appearance as head of the Speakers Bureau for the Liberty Loan committee.

Visiting State Nurse Here From Warsaw and Indianapolis

Mrs. W B Siders Warsaw county secretary of the Red Cross anti tuberculosis society and Mrs. E H Patterson of Indianapolis visiting nurse visited town en route to call on Albert Laughman south-west of town. Laughman, among the first drafted from the county, was discharged from camp due to tuberculosis and has since been at his home. Mrs Patterson sought ways to assist in treating the disease.

Michigan readers informed that Mrs M M Rager of Goshen has been receiving treatment in a Grand Rapids hospital for several weeks and is progressing well. She is expected to return home in a few days.

The Silver Lake high senior class completes plans for Class Day and Commencement on Friday evening. A Greek play will be staged Friday afternoon with low ticket prices. A few days ago L W Myers received an ecard from his son J F Myers who has lived in Kansas City for over a year. J F is a licensed veterinarian who has worked for the government and now is transferred to Aurora Illinois to join the Aurora Serum Company.
