Bayard Man Dies In Wreck

Judge Tackett Seen in Silver City Campaigning for NM Supreme Court

New judge to hear Tafoya reinstatement case

AP bulletin reports Ernest A Tafoya former Las Cruces Police Captain to apply for reinstatement after a show cause hearing was postponed when two district judges were disqualified. The State Police Board fired Tafoya July 1 over an alleged disability and Judge Montoya ordered payment of back salary and leave credits if reinstated.

UNICEF Teen Drive Plans Halloween Fundraiser

The Grant County UNICEF group reports two successful hold ups of area firms during its fund drive and will end with a door to door trick or treat collection on Halloween. The church youth group is aided by senior advisors and volunteers including Lawanda Moore Ellen Saige Catharine Langendorf Cathy Collard and Mark McDougall. Silver Coach Gerald Garrett to Return to Silver City Today

Silver High School football coach Gerald Garrett, injured in a West of Silver City car crash, is released from the hospital and plans to return to Silver City this afternoon with follow up appointments in El Paso. He underwent a long jaw reconstruction operation and hopes to resume duties before the season ends.
