Johnson Visits Viet Nam Troops in Surprise Upland Stay

President Johnson conducted a secret stop at Cam Ranh Bay to meet U S forces. He urged them that America depends on the young and brave to stop aggression and thanked the wounded and officers, signing autographs and presenting medals. He praised Westmoreland and vowed to return home with pride.

Inventive long-time New Mexico rancher Grandpa Goo Grimes dies

William Frank Grimes known as Grandpa Goo died in a Mangus Springs traffic accident. Born September 29, 1907 in Atlanta he moved to New Mexico in 1912. He ranches and hunted cattle, worked for the U S Forest Service for 18 years and later for Kennecott Copper’s China Mines Division earning many invention pins. Funeral notice notes pallbearer omission of George Oliver.
